Petit Bois, Horn, East Ship, West Ship, and Cat Island running from east to west make up Mississippi's barrier islands. The islands run parallel to the coast and are located approximately ten miles offshore. All of the islands except portions of Cat Island are part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore managed by the National Park Service. The islands offer a variety of habitats to explore. |
